Data Stored Locally on Your Device:

• Sleep Sessions: Start/end times, duration, quality scores, and cycle counts
• Dream Journal Entries: Your personal dream recordings and notes
• App Settings: Your preferences for alarms, themes, sounds, and features
• Statistics: Calculated from your sleep history (averages, streaks, etc.)

Data We Do NOT Collect:

• ❌ We don't collect your name, email, or any personal identifiers
• ❌ We don't track your location (except for weather, see below)
• ❌ We don't upload your sleep data to any servers
• ❌ We don't share your data with third parties
• ❌ We don't use analytics or tracking tools

2. Location Data (Weather Feature)

Sopor uses your approximate location only to fetch local weather information for the morning greeting screen. This happens:

• Only when you open the app after waking up
• Via a third-party weather API (Open-Meteo)
• We don't store your location
• We don't track your location history

You can deny location permission and the app will work perfectly - you just won't see weather updates.

3. Permissions We Request

Required Permissions:

• Alarms & Reminders: To wake you up at your set time
• Notifications: To show alarm notifications and session status
• Run at Startup: To restore your alarm after device restart

Optional Permissions:

• Location (Approximate): For weather information only
• Storage: Only if you choose to export/import your sleep data

4. Data Storage & Security

All your data is stored locally on your device using:

• Room Database: Encrypted local storage for sleep sessions and dreams
• DataStore: Secure preferences storage for app settings
• No Cloud Backup: Your data never leaves your device

5. Data Export & Backup

You can export your sleep data as a backup file:

• Stored in your device's Downloads folder or your chosen location
• You control where this file goes and who sees it
• We don't access or upload these backup files

6. Third-Party Services

Sopor uses these third-party services:

Open-Meteo Weather API

• Used for fetching weather data
• Only receives your approximate location (city-level)
• Privacy Policy: open-meteo.com/en/terms

Google Play Services

• For app distribution and updates only
• Standard Google Play policies apply
• Privacy Policy: policies.google.com/privacy

7. Children's Privacy

Sopor is intended for users aged 13 and above. We don't knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you're a parent and believe your child has used Sopor, please contact us.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. Changes will be posted here with an updated date. Continued use of Sopor after changes means you accept the updated policy.

9. Your Rights

You have complete control over your data:

• Access: All your data is visible in the app (Sleep Insights, Dream Journal)
• Export: Backup your data anytime via Settings → Digital Vault → Backup
• Delete: Clear all data via Sleep Insights → Delete icon, or uninstall the app
• Opt-Out: Deny location permission if you don't want weather features

10. No Ads, No Tracking

Sopor is ad-free. We don't use:

• ❌ Advertising networks
• ❌ Analytics platforms (like Google Analytics or Firebase)
• ❌ User tracking or profiling tools
• ❌ Cookies or similar technologies
